Here are some brief highlights from the week:
Reading- letter name, keyword and sound-m,n,i,a,u,c,o,d,l,

- sight word I, a, we, is, the, said
-guided reading, fluency, beginning, middle, end
-concepts of print, reading buddies, storybook
reading, rereading using a storyteller voice,
Using book and connecting language,
retelling, making a new old favorite with
Storybooks, speech bubbles, 1-1
correspondence, reading the picture to figure
out the word (what makes sense)
Math- simple addition, writing numerals, Ten Frames.
Identifying numerals through games, number
word after, number books, counting backwards,
counting by 10’s and by 1’s to 100, finger
patterns
Writing- table captains, writing routines, how to find
tools, when you are done you have just begun,
K-Daily News, adding to pictures and words,
writing partners, word stretching (rubber
bands), planning a story across pages, speech
bubbles, who, where, what happened,
editing with purple pens, writing
celebration with Ms. C’s Kindergarten,
collecting items to use for our new writing
Unit, Writing Like Scientists.
Social Studies- role play problem solving, asking for
help, friendship skills.
Science-Weather watching, fall is here, 5 senses, sense
of sight walk, using magnifying glasses to look
at something very closely and draw.
